Franklin leads Lady Lions track at Terrell relays

TERRELL -- Jessica Franklin won two events and finished second in a third to lead the Greenville Lady Lions at the Robert Daniels Relays in Terrell on Saturday.

Franklin leaped 17 feet 6 1/2 inches to take the long jump by more than an inch and won the triple jump by about half an inch with her leap of 37-0.

She clocked a season-best time of 14.9 seconds to finish second in the 100-meter hurdles to Jordan of Lancaster (14.33).

Andrea Brincefield turned in the Lady Lions’ next top finish with a fourth in the 1600-meter run (6:13.8). Brincefield was also fifth in the 800 with a 2:40.3.

Franklin also anchored the Lady Lions’ 4x100-meter relay to fifth place in the time of 52.49. Joining Franklin on the relay were T.J. Holmes, Caliyah Brown and Maddy Crabtree.

Franklin is headed next to compete at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin this weekend.
