Frisco ends Lady Lions' playoff run

PRINCETON -- Jazmyn Dorsett fired in 19 points, while Charde’ Stevens banked in 17 points to lead the Frisco Lady Raccoons to a 87-41 Class 4A bi-district playoff victory over the Greenville Lady Lions on Tuesday night.

Kendall Schwantz also pumped in 14 for the No. 7 state-ranked Lady Raccoons, who are now 29-5 for the season.

Greenville, the fourth-place team from District 10-4A, ends the season at 17-12.

Olivia Carter fired in 19 points for the Lady Lions, who also collected seven points from Shanterria Riley, six from Maddy Crabtree, five from Ke’Arra Davis and four from Mackenzie Cooper.

“Frisco has a very good ball club,” said Lady Lions coach David Sanders. “We were unable to stop them.”

The Lady Raccoons jumped out to a 30-9 lead after the first quarter and then got up 46-19 at the half.

Schwantz hit four 3-pointers for the Lady Raccoons. Dorsett, the daughter of former NFL star and Dallas Cowboy Tony Dorsett, nailed two 3-pointers.

Tiffany Moore, Brittney Hardy and Lauren Smith each nailed a 3-pointer for Frisco.

Cooper, Crabtree and Riley nailed 3-pointers for Greenville.

The second half was pretty much like the first as Frisco outscored the Lady Lions 15-11 in the third quarter and 26-11 in the fourth.

Frisco will advance to the area round to face Dallas Hillcrest, a 50-40 winner over Seagoville.
