Lady Lions nab playoff berth

Greenville wrapped up a playoff berth by downing J.J. Pearce
of Richardson 66-38 on Friday night in the Lady Lions’ home
finale.
Senior Olivia Carter poured in 32 points and freshman Maddy
Crabtree added 21 as the Lady Lions upped their season record
to 17-10 and District 10-4A mark to 8-5, giving them fourth
place in the district standings and a playoff berth.
The Lady Lions close out the regular season on Tuesday night
at No. 3 state-ranked Rockwall.
Carter also pulled down 14 rebounds and blocked six shots for
the Lady Lions.
Freshman Mackenzie Cooper produced five rebounds and three
steals.
Crabtree added four assists and three steals.
Shanterria Riley also chipped in five assists and four steals.
“We played good defense, good offense, and we’re in the
playoffs for the second year in a row,” said Greenville coach
David Sanders.
The Lady Lions honored their two seniors, Ke’Arra Davis and
Olivia Carter, in pregame ceremonies.
For J.J. Pearce McKenzie Russell chipped in 10 points, while
Anna Gerber tallied nine.
