GREENVILLE -- Devonte Green banked in 30 points, while N.J. Mason pumped in 11 to lead Greenville to a 66-63 victory over McKinney Boyd at the Lions Den Tuesday night.

Greenville has now won four in a row to improve to 5-9 on the season.

McKinney Boyd drops to 11-3 for the year.

“It feels good because it’s four wins in a row and the kids played till the end,” said Lions coach Earl Claiborne.

Greenville led 15-12 after one quarter. At halftime Greenville had a 37-28 advantage, after outscoring the Broncos 22-16 in the second quarter. Both teams scored 16 points in the third quarter, leaving Greenville with a 53-44 lead heading to the fourth quarter.

In the fourth quarter the Broncos outscored the Lions 19-13. But thanks to some Greenville defensive plays and a few free throws made by the Lions, Greenville held on for the victory.

Jeff Blackmon pumped in 23 to lead McKinney Boyd. Alex Coffin and Zach Parr each banked in 12 points for the Broncos.

Greenville opens up District 10 4A play at home on Friday night against Royse City.
