Two Lions named to all-region soccer team

Denim Douglas and Matt Mouer of Greenville added to their
collection of postseason honors by making the all-region
soccer team.
Douglas, a senior defender, and the senior goalkeeper Mouer
made the all Region II-4A team as selected by the Texas
Association of Soccer Coaches.
Douglas was also the defensive most valuable player in
District 20-4A after helping the 12-7-2 Lions win the district
championship.
Mouer shared the district’s MVP award with a player from North
Lamar after recording 118 saves. Mouer’s goals against average
was 1.35.
Former Greenville coach Casey Osborn was named coach of the
year for the all-region team after directing the Pirates to
the state finals. Mesquite Poteet lost in the finals, 2-0 to
Hidalgo Early College.
