Poteet blanks Lions in baseball

MESQUITE -- Mesquite Poteet pitcher Chris Good fired a
three-hitter as the Pirates blanked the Greenville Lions 9-0
on Saturday at the Mesquite baseball tournament.
Good walked two and struck out five.
Kevin Long went 2-for-3 to lead the Lions at the plate. Lone
singled in the fifth and in the seventh.
Rafael Sanchez singled in the fifth for the Lions’ only other
hit.
The Pirates managed eight hits off Greenville pitchers Sawyer
Harmon, Wade Prigmore and Ethan Hackney. Harmon walked four
and struck out one in one inning. Prigmore walked two and
fanned three in four innings and Hackney struck out one and
walked one in one inning.
Blunt led the Pirate hitters with two hits, two runs and three
runs batted in.
The Lions will open District 10-4A play at home on Tuesday
night against Rockwall-Heath. The game is scheduled to start
at 7 p.m.
