Lions, Lady Lions down R.L. Turner

It was the Chase Wofford-Corey Bosworth Show at the Lions Den
Tuesday night.
Thanks to Wofford banking in 16 points and Bosworth adding 14,
the Greenville Lions raised their district record to 2-8 and
their overall record to 6-19 with a 64-50 win over R.L.
Turner.
The visitors from Carrollton scored the first four points of
the contest only to have Greenville score the next four points
on back-to-back baskets by N.J. Mason. The first quarter ended
with Turner holding a 10-9 advantage.
Greenville outscored R.L. Turner 24-17 in the second quarter
to claim a 33-27 halftime lead. In the second quarter,
Bosworth hit back to back 3-point shots for Greenville to give
the hometown team a 20-19 lead. The Lions would never trail
again.
But the visitors from Carrollton went on a 9-2 run to close to
within 44-39 going to the fourth quarter.
With Wofford, Bosworth, Jarel Nelson and hitting big baskets
down the stretch, the Greenville boys would not be denied.
Turner falls to 0-24 on the season and 0-10 in district.
Mason also chipped in 11 points for Greenville.
Cleghorn banked in 14 points for the visiting Lions from
Carrollton and Mikal Patterson also pumped in 11 for Turner.

CARROLLTON -- Greenville’s Lady Lions strengthened their hold
on third place in District 10-4A with a 66-22 pasting of R.L.
Turner on Tuesday night.
Olivia Carter fired in 36 points to lead the Lady Lions, who
are now 13-11 for the season and 7-5 in district play. Rocio
Medrano tossed in nine points and Jessica Franklin added
seven.
R.L. Turner dropped to 0-12 in district play.
